Gardening Tips
Here are a few gardening tips to use for your garden or landsape:
-
Always dig the hole deep enough to cover the roots but not to deep that it puts the plants into shock. The easiest way to tell is, when taking the plant out of the pot, put the plant in the ground the same level the plant was in the pot. Planting to much above the dirt line on the plant can shock it
-
Once you have the plant in the ground soak it with water to let the water get to the roots. then water at least two to three times a week for the first two weeks. If your temperature is above 80 degrees the I would water every day for two weeks to get the roots established in the soil.
-
Put weed barrier down around the plant to keep the weeds from taking over. If the sun can see the barrier then the weeds can get to the plant. We advise to put mulch about 2-3 inches thick over the weed barrier around the plant. No sunlight can get to the plant then the weeds can't grow.
-
Fertilizer- use a general fertilizer and be sure to follow the recommended directions on the package. Too much can damage to plants so please follow directions on the package.
I hope these tips help you to create a beautiful garden or lanscape.
